Both of the shelves are laminated press-board with 2 Plexiglass covers each. Both are used & have some wear but the plexiglass is still clear. There are 2 cracks but neither are structural & they won't obscure the view of what you're displaying.
They were made to mount on shelf brackets (not included), but can also be set along edge of your desk or placed on a table, upright piano or roll top desk.
