Very heavy unit, you will need 2 strong people to move.
This is actually a TV cabinet from pre-flatscreen days. We have been using it for storage. I had always thought about adding a bar to the top section to use as extra hanging space for my kid's clothing, but it was too heavy for us to bring upstairs on our own. I can text/email you additional photos if you are interested.
The top are has an open section on the back wall, so it is partially open to whatever wall you would have this against. It was made this way so that the original TV had space and allowed air to circulate and not overheat. There is also a plug on the interior side wall and a raised platform that a TV is supposed to sit on. The doors swing out, but there is also a track so that once opened, the doors can be pushed in along the interior side walls (this would allow you to watch TV without the open doors being a distraction -- if using this for storage, it isn't anything useful but I'm just describing how they work).
The bottom is just open storage space.
I have been using this as storage for party and holiday supplies, but it definitely could be used as more functional furniture in a kids room for clothing, toys, etc. It is very solid and heavy, so not cheap furniture at all. It is around 20 years old, so there are some scuffs, but overall decent quality and a really good deal for $75. I don't think you could even get something at Ikea for that price.
